Remembrance Sunday in Morley: Sunday 8 November at the War Memorial

Morley’s Civic Observance of Remembrance takes place on Sunday 8 November at the town’s War Memorial in Scatcherd Park. The parade makes its way to the memorial for the Service of Remembrance and the national two-minute silence at 11am, when wreaths are laid in memory of the 453 Morley men named on the memorial from the First World War and the 110 from the Second. Last year the parade formed up at 10.30am at Central Methodist Church Hall on Wesley Street, while the Town Hall refurbishment continues — check Morley Town Council for this year’s confirmed arrangements. Armistice Day itself follows on Wednesday 11 November, with a silence at 11am.
