Farnley Hall Park spreads over some 40 acres around Farnley Hall — fittingly, the hall is the home of Leeds’ own parks department, and the grounds are kept as its showpiece.

Formal gardens, specimen trees including its great cedars, a lake and sports pitches make it west Leeds’ quiet all-rounder — less famous than Roundhay, and all the more peaceful for it.
