Otley’s museum collection spent 50 years in the Civic Centre until the museum closed in 2010. The artefacts went into store — but the town’s memory survives as the Otley Museum & Archive Trust.
The Trust’s documentary and photographic archive at Wellcroft House, Crow Lane opens three mornings a week by appointment for researchers and family-history enquiries, and a changing display from the collection can be seen at the Core Centre on Orchard Gate. Like the West Yorkshire Archive in Morley, this is research by arrangement rather than a walk-in museum.
