When Benjamin Gott built up Armley Mills in 1805, it became the largest woollen mill on earth. The Leeds Industrial Museum now fills those same buildings between the canal and the Aire.

Textile machinery, steam engines, railway locomotives and a working picture palace tell the story of the industries that made Leeds — the closest cousin in spirit to Morley’s own mill-town past.
