Roundhay Park is Leeds’ flagship green space: more than 700 acres of parkland, woodland and water, opened as a public park by Prince Arthur on 19 September 1872 — and still one of the largest city parks in Europe.

There are two lakes (Waterloo Lake for fishing and swans, the Upper Lake for wildlife), specialist gardens including Canal Gardens and the Monet and Alhambra gardens, the Mansion, play areas, tennis, golf and bowling — plus Tropical World at the Princes Avenue side. A full day, easily.
