Sunny Bank Mills: the Farsley mill that refused to die

Sunny Bank Mills wove worsted cloth in Farsley for some 180 years. When the looms stopped in 2008, the mills did not fall derelict — they filled with artists, makers, shops and a café instead.

Today the complex holds galleries (including the 1872 Gallery), a haberdashery and craft shops in the old weaving sheds, and one of the best-preserved mill yards in Yorkshire. A working example of what to do with an industrial past.
