Rothwell’s own community cinema, CROWN Cinema, screens films at Blackburn Hall on Commercial Street on the first Saturday of every month — a family matinee (just £2.50) plus further screenings of classics, new releases and cult favourites.
Films show on a five-metre screen with laser projection, there is a licensed bar, and the whole thing is run by local volunteers. The next screening days are Saturday 7 November and Saturday 5 December 2026; film titles are announced on the CROWN website.
