Leeds Playhouse: the theatre with its doors open

Leeds Playhouse has been making theatre since 1970 and, since its £16m rebuild in 2019, it has deliberately thrown its doors open: three stages (Quarry, Courtyard and the Barber Studio) around a foyer that works as a public living room.

The building and its Front Room café are free to walk into during the day — no ticket needed — which makes it one of the easiest cultural buildings in Leeds to explore. Shows, of course, are ticketed; seasons are in What’s On.
